April 19th

Today was a typical Monday...Jess and Jon headed to Medford early this morning and even though she had an appointment scheduled, they didn't have the results or protocol for the next two months. You would have thought that even though Portland didn't send them that they would have requested them?? Hmm...oh well I guess. Must not have been meant to be. Then she went across the street to get her PICC lines cleaned and changed. The nurse there thought that it might be getting infected, so she pulled them all out!! Then they called Jess' doctor, in Medford, to see what had happened. The doctor was irritated because she had gotten the orders from Portland for chemo and she couldn't do it because Jess didn't have her lines in anymore. The chemo would burn right through the little veins and skin so she needed a new port. That kind of upset me when I heard that because that is what they are putting in her body...but I can't let it bother me. I am trying to think positive because of how much they have already done. They came home and they said that they would call her and before she knew it she had two appointments. Tomorrow she has spinal chemo at 130 and then on Thursday she is getting her new port put in and it is like having surgery so she can't eat or drink the night before; it is going into her chest. Jess is happy about it because it gives her a lot more freedom with showering and she doesn't have to worry about it getting caught on stuff or getting dirty. This one is actually under the skin! She of course is worried about the procedure so she asked me to please take her that day. So of course I am. I will keep you all informed. Thanks! Please keep her in your prayers. Love to all, Cindi
