Hi All,
Just got home from Jessi's chemo in Medford. I had the day off because I cut my finger pretty badly at work yesterday. I can't get it wet and to tell you the truth it throbbed all night and it does off and on during the day, so I am home until Monday. They made me get a tetanus shot in my shoulder and that hurts too, but enough about me and back to Jess. We got to Medford about 830 this morning and Jess is still pretty sore from her port surgery so we didn't think that they would do anything today. We figured that it would just be a blood draw and checkup...but of course they did that and then gave her two types of chemo today. The one is hard on your heart so she had to sign a waiver to get it; so that is pretty scary. They did a checkup on her heart and of course it came out good. Better be for a 21 year old! The other chemo she had before so we didn't worry there. Both of them were pretty quick to go in. We weren't there very long with her getting chemo and anti nausea medicine. They used her new port and it ended up being sore still so they iced it. She said it was like a bee sting on her chest when he put the needle in, but she didn't feel anything when they took it out. Then we had to go pick up her new steroid pills. She is now on a pretty good sized dosage for a week now. She wasn't very excited, but they said they will really help with everything. She has a list of things to look out for with her chemo, so we will keep an eye on it. Please keep her in your prayers. She will have the same chemo again next Friday. Love to all, Cindi
