March 30th

Hi All,

Jess and Jon went to Medford on Monday so Jess could get her blood drawn and have two rounds of IV chemo. Her blood results were up from the last round of chemo so that is good news. The chemo also went really smoothly so it really ended up being a pretty good day....considering. She was really tired on the way home yesterday, so I am trying to make sure that she takes care of herself. I hate to push he fluids because she gets made, but it has to be done. Tomorrow she has her picc cleaning done here at Sky Lakes. I am glad since the weather has turned bad and it has been snowing and cold the last couple of days. Now after that we have to go to Portland next week everyone!! I have to say that I am excited and nervous. We are leaving Tuesday night, her tests are done Weds, results on Thurs. My birthday is Thursday, so good results :) Please keep her in your prayers. I will let you know if anything pops up. Love to all, Cindi

PS Haley (Newsome) Cantrell is doing a fundraiser for Jess with her Scentsy products. It is only until March 31st. Online orders get their names put in for a special gift drawing. So you get a wonderful Scentsy gift for yourself, family member, or a friend and then Haley is giving her commission to Jess. I got mine yesterday for Jess and me. Wow, do they smell good :) I am sure that you can find her on the Scentsy website or give Haley a call, 541-227-3359. Thanks everyone!!

March 27th

Hi All,

Jess has been having some pretty good days. Some days I think that she over does it, but who am I to tell her...I also love to see her back to riding and doing the things she loves. So I hate to say anything. Just trying to make sure that she eats and drinks well. She has been trying to get back to riding her horse, Ricky. Wow, does she love that horse (thanks Danette!). We finally got to pick him back up and bring him over to my house. She has been brushing and clipping him about everyday. It makes me smile. Today was her benefit horse show. I felt that it went really well. There were a few people I thought would be there, but they weren't able to make it, that is okay. They had good food and a lot of wonderful silent auction items that people had donated. Plus the Mountain Goddess was there selling shirts and cards. It was a fun filled day and I think that a lot of people were happy to be able to see Jess finally. She looks good, since she has been having the easier days of chemo. Plus she is 21 so I am sure that helps a lot! :) The SEOPHC club did a wonderful job and it was sure nice of Spring Lake Stables to let them have it there too! Jess rode around most of the day visiting everyone and she even made it into one class to see how it felt again.

She has two rounds of chemo on Monday in Medford, plus she gets her blood drawn. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank you for checking in and God Bless you all!!! Cindi

March 22nd

Hi All,

Jess had been feeling pretty well; but then all of a sudden she got super tired, but I expect that with as much chemo she received on Thursday. We went to Albany on Saturday to go to the horse expo and to meet up with Shane's girlfriend and her parents...so he could stay in Portland for the week over spring break. Jess did pretty well walking around, but Saturday evening her back really started to hurt so we went back to the hotel and headed home in the morning. She slept most of the way home, so I worried that she might have over done it a bit. She has to go get her picc lines cleaned tomorrow in Klamath and I am a little worried about it. It looks super irritated like it is oozing some fluids, so I think it could be infected. We will see tomorrow and I will let you all know. I am sorry that I have not been on here very much, but there has not been a lot going on right now. She has chemo again next Monday and then I am hoping that she doesn't have anymore until after we get home from Portland. Please keep her in your prayers.

Love to all,
Cindi

P.S. Remember that the schooling horse show is this Saturday at Spring Lake Stables and they have a lot of cool silent auction items plus you can come with your horse and get them ready for the upcoming show season or just to ride and have fun. Plus Haley Cantrell is doing a fundraiser with her Scentsy products. It goes to the end of the month and the scents are wonderful. Thanks so much for everyone's support!!!

March 18th

Hi All,

Sorry that I haven't been on lately. I have been so sick and just trying to keep up with things at home and work. Busy busy! Jess has been about the same. Some days are better than others. She got her picc lines cleaned yesterday in Klamath. Today she had a big day of chemo. The doctor said that her blood results were about the same as last time, so that is okay. She had 2 IV chemos, which went well...but then she had to wait almost two hours before they got to her spinal. It was scheduled at one, so she and Jon were not very happy. The doctor wanted to put it in a lower spot, somewhere different, but it is deeper so she had to be numbed more and those are the shots that hurt her the most. She said that they hurt but after that she just felt pressure when he put the chemo in. This was the doctor that she likes though; so she was happy with that. They ate lunch over there and then they were home and she was on the couch by five. I was glad that she was resting already and she said that she was drinking good. I would imagine that around Saturday she will be feeling really tired. That seems to be about the time this stuff hits her. Please keep her in your prayers. I know it gets hard when everyone is busy. I do believe that they all help. Thanks so much!! Love to all, Cindi

PS They are doing a schooling horse show and silent auction for Jess at Spring Lake Stables on March 27th. Should be a lot of fun and I know that they are getting lots of cool stuff. I f you know of anyone who wants to donate anything please let Maureen Thomas know. Thanks!

March 10th

Hello All,

Jess got two rounds of chemo on Monday, plus she had her picc lines cleaned and changed while she was there...so that was nice. Everything went pretty well with all of that. She found out that they FINALLY put it in her records that she is deathly allergic to the PEG chemo! I am so happy for that. It was getting really scary. Pat and I were going to go with her if they decided that she was going to be getting it again. Now we don't have to worry about it and we will see what they say when we head to Portland next month. When they did her blood check they said that her red cells and platelets looked good, but her white were a little low. Not low enough to worry about at this time. She felt pretty good yesterday, but today it kind of hit her and she slept in and rested all day. The chemo seems to do this to her as it works its way through her body. I told her to listen to her body and rest and keep herself hydrated. She doesn't have chemo until next Thursday. She will have two rounds plus another spinal. Number 12 now :( Please keep her in your prayers.

Thank you all so much for checking up on her.

Love, Cindi

March 7th

Hi All,

Jess had an amazing weekend. It was great to see her feeling this well. We did lots of stuff together. We went for walks, shopping, the home show, and she also rode her horse for the first time since this has all started. It was a great feeling. The weather was a little chilly at times, but for the most part it was really nice. Jess has to be in Medford tomorrow at 930 am to get her blood drawn, doctor visit, and then two rounds of IV chemo. She is going to ask, but is sure the doctor will bring up the information about the three shot (PEG) chemo. That is the one that she has had the horrible allergic reactions to. We will see what they say about it. Hopefully we don't see it again!!! She is supposed to have another spinal this week. That will make number 11...I think. I feel so bad about her getting it. It actually makes me sick to my stomach. I told her to see if she could have it on Thurs or Fri so I can go with her, since I don't have school those days. That is all for now. I will let you know how she does tomorrow. Please keep her in your prayers.

Love, Cindi

P.S. The SEOPHC (South Oregon Paint Horse Club) is having a benefit show for Jess on March 27th at the Spring Lake Stables. There will be a show, silent auction, food, and lots of fun! So far I have heard that they have a plane ride around Crater Lake, gorgeous jewelery, and of course an awesome saddle donated from Big R for the silent auction. Please come stop by and check everything out. Jess is hoping to be on her horse Ricky visiting with everyone :) Please get a hold of Maureen Thomas or Kristy Federico for more information.

March 3rd

Hello All,

Jess has been doing pretty well since the last time she had chemo. It is nice for her to have this time off and relax to get stronger. She has been trying to walk everyday to help build herself up. The puffiness in her face has gone down some from the steroids; since she hasn't had to take them as much lately. Overall we are feeling pretty well. She had to go to Sky Lakes today (in Klamath Falls) to have her picc dressing cleaned and changed. On Monday she has two IV chemo treatments again in Medford. OHSU called yesterday and they were already setting up her appointments for the next checkup in Portland on the 7th and 8th of April. It seems fast, but like I told Pat March has just started and it is a long month. So that is all for now. I will let you know how she does. Thank you for checking in and please keep her in your prayers. Love, Cindi
